A cat would win because of the way they fight. Dogs use their teeth and snout mostly which are vulnerable and close to the body. Cats use their claws and strike out away from the body similar to a boxer in the ring. You would have to get around the claws and the extension of the paws in order to connect with the body. If a dog was able to connect it may win but the odds are against it since it would have to get around the sharp claws. Cats attack the nose first which is a weak spot on dogs.
